Grok Bot on iPhone: approve, review, keep going
Use the Grok Bot iPhone app to message Bots, take over the cloud computer, and handle approvals while work continues after you close the phone.

The iPhone app is a companion to the same Bots, conversations, routines, plugins, and shared cloud computer as the desktop app. Work continues in the cloud when the app is closed. It is not a second product, and it is not the Grok chat app on grok.com.
Requirements
Official mobile documentation currently requires:
- iPhone with iOS 18 or later
- An eligible plan, signed in with your Cursor account
- Internet access
The dedicated app is designed for iPhone, not iPad or Android. Download it from the first-party App Store listing, not a third-party site. Check your device with the platform checker.
xAI’s mobile page still lists a narrower plan set than the 26 August access expansion. Confirm eligibility on Cursor’s plan page or with the plan finder.
What the phone is good for
- Starting or redirecting a task
- Answering a Bot’s question
- Approving or denying a step
- Watching or taking over Agent Computer for a password, 2FA code, or CAPTCHA
- Reviewing a result and asking for a revision
- Creating a Bot or a group chat
- Pausing or resuming a routine from the Bot profile
Enable notifications if you want to know when a Bot has a result, question, or approval request. xAI currently notes that push delivery is still rolling out; in-app attention states remain available.
What still needs desktop
Teaching a workflow by demonstration, editing a routine’s schedule or instruction, viewing run history, testing a routine, and deleting a routine currently require the desktop app. Do the teaching pass at a desk, then use the phone to catch approvals.
Account, plugins, Bot settings, appearance, usage, and eligible iOS purchases live under Settings. Some advanced desktop controls are not on iPhone.
Usage is shared with desktop
macOS and iOS share one usage bucket on the signed-in Cursor account. A long job you started on the phone counts against the same weekly allowance you see on the Mac. The plan finder includes trial and usage notes.
Takeover on a small screen
Open the computer from the conversation, take control, complete only the blocked step, and return control. Do not type passwords or one-time codes into the chat composer. The screen is the same shared computer every Bot on the account uses.
First week on mobile
- Sign in with Login with Cursor using the account that owns access.
- Confirm you see the same Bots as desktop.
- Run one small task, then approve nothing you cannot see.
- Take over once for a harmless login if you need to learn the control.
- Leave teaching and routine editing for desktop.
