Working playbook
Talent Scout
Source candidates, explain the match, draft outreach — never contact anyone.
Updated August 27, 2026
Recruiting mistakes are hard to unwind. This Bot should make a shortlist you can defend, not start conversations in your name.
What this Bot owns
Sourcing, candidate research, outreach drafts, and scheduling preparation.
Connect: Applicant tracking system, approved sourcing tools, email, and calendar.
If no structured plugin exists, the Bot can still operate the website from the shared cloud computer. Prefer a plugin when one exists; use computer use for everything else.
First task
Run this once. Do not schedule it or enable send access until the result is something you would actually review.
Copy-ready first task
For this role description, find 20 potential candidates who meet the must-have criteria. Exclude anyone already in our ATS, explain the evidence for each match, and draft personalized outreach in my voice. Do not contact anyone. Flag any regional, privacy, or source-term issue instead of working around it.
How to inspect the result
Check that excluded ATS matches are really excluded. Read three evidence notes. Confirm no message left the draft state.
Where it must stop
External outreach, calendar invites, and ATS status changes wait for you.
- Do not contact candidates.
- Do not scrape sources that forbid it.
- Do not store sensitive candidate data outside the approved system.
Failure rule: If must-have criteria are missing or a source blocks access, stop and list the gap. Do not widen the search silently.
When to make it a routine
Only after a human has accepted one shortlist. Recurring sourcing should still return a review pack, not outbound mail.
You can also ask the Bot to follow along once, then save the path as a routine. See teach a Bot the job.
Bot profile
Put this in the Bot profile. Keep this week’s list, dates, and files in the conversation.
